University of Lodz jointly with Regional Medical Council in Lodz organized free of charge training entitled “Cervical Cancer Prevention – medical and psychological aspects”. The training was held on 18-20 March at the Medical Club in Lodz. Sixteen persons, representing various medical fields, attended the course. The aim of the course was to present medical and psychological knowledge related to prevention and treatment of cervical cancer. The training was organized within Aurora project (European Network on cervical cancer surveillance and control in the new Member States) which aims to identify a common and feasible strategy on how to promote cervical cancer screening in the new EU Member States targeting women in the reproductive age (30-69 years of age). Aurora also aims to assist the new EU Member States in the implementation of an evidence-based screening for cervical cancer and promote a European exchange of information and expertise on the development and implementation of good practices in cervical cancer prevention and advocacy.
