We are pleased to announce that AURORA training on cervical cancer prevention was held from 24th to 26th October 2012 at the Palazzo delle Stelline, Milan, Italy. Polish delegation consisted of:
* Prof. Agata Karowicz-Bilińska (Medical University)
* Anita Sikora-Szubert (Medical University)
* Magdalena Affeltowicz (Lodz City Office – Department of Health and Social Affairs) and
* Karolina Tomczyk (University of Lodz)
The training lasted three days and aimed to provide health care professionals, as well as advocacy leaders, with practical knowledge concerning: cervical cancer issues and screening programs, communication skills and advocacy (informing campaigns, lobbying). During the training both theoretical and practical knowledge was presented, including real case example on how countries/organizations try to increase society’s knowledge concerning cervical cancer. The training will be replicated in Lodz, Poland, what should have a positive impact on women’s awareness related to cervical cancer.
